I see we have folks who don't know basketball talking about it again. "Austin Rivers 'dunks' on Rasheed Wallace.."

If you don't know, Jerry Stackhouse puts on a Pro-Am event on the campus of NCCU this time of year. This year, the NCAA has deemed that the high school players can't play, which is a shame 'cause no money is passing hands outwardly, due to it being a 'unfair recruiting advantage for NCCU' (Yeah aight..). Anyway....Here are some Austin Rivers highlights. I mean it was a PRETTY DUNK and the young man can play. However, just like the self alley he threw and homie got outta the way, Rasheed 'let him dunk'. Clearly you don't know 'Sheed or basketball if you can't tell when he 'lets something happen'. I know..I know...you would have....(insert dirty ass play here) I get it. That's probably why they wouldn't let your ass on the court. Nobody is out here trying to hurt folks over a dunk. Maybe you and your frail ego might (More to come on your frail ass ego having ninjas too on the blog. Look out for it..) He didn't get 'dunked on'. That isn't the way the World is telling it though. smh. Enjoy the video.

I guess my thing was that I thought Jalen's comments were made in HINDSIGHT. Not as in, he FEELS THAT WAY NOW. I can't speak for Jalen though. That is just how I took 'em. Clearly, others did not take this that way....Still can't wait to see the Fab Five 30 for 30 though....

Duke female student does her HONORS THESIS ON F*CKING MEMBERS OF THE BASEBALL, TENNIS AND LACROSSE TEAM...

I mean it is an HONORS thesis so one can probably conclude (If they are smart that is..) her schooling was ALREADY being paid for. So the whole 'Her parents are probably gonna be pissed because they spent their hard earned money on her....' argument is probably mute from the DOOR. I know this will be so unsettling for some, especially with daughters but the WAY she laid this shit out is COMICAL. I am sorry. Oh and I HAVE DAUGHTERS so yeah..She is in college. Again, she is an HONORS student so her intelligence is not in question...I thought the shit was brilliant personally. That's just me though. I have a WARPED sense of humor though. I will admit that. I am also not a resident of the heavily populated towns of "Denial", "DoasIsaynotasIdoohletmedissyoufornotbeingperfect", or my favorite town 'Idoshitbutitsdifferentcauseitsme'I mean, dudes do this shit all the time and it is 'hilarious' right? Why not a girl? Fuck it....


Normally, I read these things, chuckle and wait for everyone else to discover them in mass....This PART RIGHT HERE prompted me to share though..

9th Wonder to teach at Duke University....

I see some of the confused faces out there. Who?? I have never heard of this guy or his music. Not so fast. You MIGHT want to go look at your linear notes for your favorite artists like Jay-Z (which honestly if you DO know him, that is how), Little Brother (where he was the main producer for SEVERAL YEARS and broke out at), Destiny's Child and a few others.



So it looks like they have given a class down at Duke. The class is called "Sampling Soul". He was born in Winston-Salem, NC but is from Raleigh, so this is not that far fetched. This is also not his first time having this honor bestowed on him. Along with Chris "Play" Martin, he also did some work at North Carolina Central instructing a Hip Hop History class there as well. Ya'll are some lucky people to have the art form of music that you love actually be an accredited class! I WISH the genre would have even been accepted to the level it is now at the time I was in school. Never mind having a class that counted towards graduation on my docket.

To me, he is a very underrated craftsman. Yes, he is known but people are really 'dismissive' of his talents. He is much better than given credit for. Some are also TOO CRITICAL of him to me but hey. That's their right I suppose. I am pretty sure they don't have those same standards for themselves though. lol
