I need wins not another of these good game man hugs....
Come on be my baby tonight...
I guess it is better than punching Steve Kerr in the mouth and shit though. Get your Zen young Jedi. I wouldn't be mad at him if went 81 point Kobe out there at this point.
*yawns* Sorry. 5'11...6'8ish.... I made the same argument with the King James dunk on Damon Jones btw so lets not call it what it isn't. I'm not hating on Kobe. Lord knows, he's baptized enough LEGIT sized cats. Chris jumped, Kobe dunked. The end as far as I'm concerned.
The Lakers have been in the hunt for Paul since the beginning, but L.A.'s reluctance to include Andrew Bynum
in any deal for Paul has prevented talks from advancing. The Lakers
prefer to hold on to Bynum as the possible centerpiece of trade talks
with Orlando for Dwight Howard. The Hornets
are not interested in Gasol (who has three years and $57 million left
on his deal), but in the last 48 hours they have put out feelers to try
and gauge league-wide interest in the 31-year-old forward.
Houston has been been actively pursuing centers. Rockets officials have met with Nuggets big man Nene and Kings center Samuel Dalembert
in the last week. While a source close to Nene said he has not made any
decision, rival executives believe he is headed back to Denver, likely
at a max or near-max deal. However, Houston is also still in the mix
for the big man. Houston wants Gasol, who would become the low post
presence the Rockets have craved since Yao Ming went down with injuries.
Last night, I think we ALL saw Rajon Rondo go down. It was VERY UNFORTUNATE. He made impact with the ground, put his hand down to brace himself and dislocated his elbow. I think that the only thing SOME OF US CAN AGREE ON IS THAT HE DISLOCATED HIS ELBOW. I had a LITANY of (If I say so myself, pretty HOMERISH/I HATE THE HEAT fans) folks say Wade TRIED TO HURT HIM. Lets look at the video..
At the .05 second mark of the video, Rondo goes to GET AROUND WADE TO GET THE BALL THAT WAS GOING OUT OF BOUNDS. He thought he had a steal. COOL! Only thing is, his arm is ON WADE'S FUCKING HEAD. He tried to hook around Wade by using HIS NECK...TWICE. It is RIGHT THERE ON THE TAPE. No need to speculate. No need to make it up. YOU CAN SEE THE CAT TRYING TO DO IT.
One issue though. Wade isn't some lil guard. Normally, when the very strong for his size Rondo does that, the cat goes flying. Not Wade. Wade hooked him BACK, they got tangled up and DOWN THEY WENT. That's Wade's fault 'cause he didn't 'bitch up' and let the smaller Rondo perform the 'hook and go get the steal' on him? No.
But NO.....I HEARD SO MANY OF YOU IDIOTS saying Wade did that on PURPOSE. Like he knew if he hooked Rondo back, Rondo would, at that EXACT MOMENT, reach back to brace his fall and maybe 'break his arm' (As some you so EXPERTLY SPOUTED OFF ON TWITTER...) Really? Really?
Look, I know in hindsight, some of you are gonna say 'I was just playing my nig..." but urm....your tweets say DIFFERENT. Then you started RTing fools saying that same foolish. Sounding like a bunch of idiots. I heard one fool 'Wish death upon Wade and his kids.." (I wish I had screen shot that shit. I would have put it up here. I promise you I would have...) Word? Death? Word?
Like I said on Twitter, I can tell which ones of you played ball/actually know what you are talking about by what you tweet. 'Cause that shit was absurd to say. @ Wade doing it on purpose. I have even heard some of you WHO HAVE PLAYED saying stupid shit like this in the past. What is wrong with you people? lol Basketball is a CONTACT SPORT HOLMES. I don't know what kinda sissy ball you play where you live but I have played the game in a LOT OF PLACES. There was one constant. CONTACT.
The kicker of this though is him COMING BACK INTO THE GAME. Oh ya'll got down on your knees when he came back in. Like he is the first cat to come back in the game with a dislocated ANYTHING. Elbow. Finger, Arm. Hip. Disk in back...And I am only ALLUDING TO ONE PLAYER IN PARTICULAR WHO DID THIS ON THE REGULAR. (There are SO MANY MORE BUT I HAD TO PULL THE BIG GUN OUT FOR THIS ONE..) This player wasn't playing with the likes of Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce either when he did this. He played with George Lynch. Eric Snow. And a bunch of other bum ass niggas. Yeah..you know who he is. Ya'll didn't appreciate that.
Oh I have another one too. He was actually playing YESTERDAY (He admittedly didn't play well and well...his team fucking lost. I am not you. I know how to say it. ) Only you guys like to 'blame that performance' on something else. Again, no KG's and the like on his team. Just a bunch of Anthony Parker's, Mo Williams and JJ Hickson.s....
I digress though....
Look...I don't wish bad on Rondo. Glad to see he was able to come back. I am just not as 'forgetful'/anti a person as some of you are. It is the reason why I don't discuss A LOT OF THINGS with some of you. You are too hoemotional with your ideas. I guess you feel because you have like minded folks that are as hoemotional as you are, that makes you 'right'. No homie. It just makes ya'll a GROUP OF HOEMOTIONAL PEOPLE. We get it. You don't like Lebron. You don't like Wade. You don't see your 'Big Four' (You have four DAMM ALL-STARS..Talk about parity...) coming together by addition as the same sin you label Lebron's decision as. Despite the fact that you, in true hypocritical fashion, claim BOSH SUCKS. How can they be a 'Big Three if Bosh sucks? You seem to REALLY READILY forget now that Pau is playing like his name is PAULA that you STILL STOLE HIM FROM MEMPHIS* in the short term.'Cause you weren't screaming, "We gave up Marc Gasol, how ever will we go on now?" when you got Pau now were you? You were screaming "We are about to GET THIS CHIP FOR SURE NOW!". That's what you were screaming. I guess after pointing all this out I should probably 'forget' having a rationale conversation with you about your 'hatred' for a team that you all PRETTY MUCH HAVE SAID "Won't get a chip" huh? Nope. For even if the C's beat Miami and win the chip, you KNOW THE TRUTH. You know that without a similar 'Decision', you would still be cursing Paul Pierce for taking too many shots and still be pissed at Cakes Walker for shooting ya'll outta games in their prime years. (I told you...I don't forget. I am not a casual fan...Like many of you seem to be..) So go ahead and hold onto that bitter feeling. Oh and to those TRULY OBNOXIOUS LAKERS FANS OUT THERE (I know some cool ones so I am not talking to you..) you already know. In the words of 9th Wonder recently, "If Kobe is who ya'll say he is....Now is the time for him to be that guy..."..That's all I have to say...
*You can sight Memphis's playoff performance as proof it wasn't if you want but WHERE HAS MEMPHIS BEEN THE LAST TWO YEARS? Oh that's right...AT HOME. I would give the combo of ZACH/Lionel Holland's and the play of (I can't believe I am typing this) Mike Conley more credit for the surge than I would Marc's improvement. Thanks for playing though.....
...but this might end that conversation. This chart doesn't even take into consideration the RULES that are now in place. You know the ones that some of you like to cite when we play pickup basketball about people like me 'not being able to touch you' or the VERY STIFF PENALTIES for flagrant fouls. Can you imagine if you weren't able to 'literally' touch Mike? If the Pistons literally weren't allowed to beat him up for years (and he STILL GOT HIS)? Flip side to that is imagining Kobe with teammates that would play like FOR HIM. Seeing what levels he might have gotten to had he been pushed by a Joe Dumars, Rock Richmond, Latrell Spreewell in his prime and the like. What he would have done with a Dennis Johnson dogging him. Sidney Moncrief all over him in a way that Bruce Bowen NEVER could do and watching him rise to the challenge. What would they have done with a 6'8 guard who can finish and shoot a three? Very good debate indeed.
Yeah...yeah..I hear you...you say you couldn't do it then without getting a call. That wasn't all the time and it SURELY wasn't during his first 7 in the League. Possibly longer....Still and all it is a great debate....
I mean lets keep it funky. Pretty easy to say you wouldn't have when you haven't had to do it. Lets also not get amnesia..
A. You told Charlotte you wouldn't play for them. Period.
B. You play in L.A. You don't play in Cleveland. There are NO CHIPS WON IN CLEVELAND. Rich history in L.A. L.A is...well...L.A. Cleveland isn't a hot bed. Of course you aren't leaving..lol
In fairness to Kobe, in that interview, he said he didn't want to say it 'cause it would be looked like he 'felt some type of way' about Lebron. Of course, we all HEAR WHAT WE WANT so we will just gloss over that. 'Cause that is how we do now. Yet, we want people to be honest. smh. Funny all the way around.
I wouldn't call it much about anything honestly. @ what he said. Yes, I posted it but only 'cause I know how most of you like to go take and RUN WITH SOMETHING. What was he supposed to say? @ who is the favorite. He is ON THE DEFENDING NBA CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM. With arguably the best big man in the World, the World's best coach and a good team. How DOES he sound saying, "Naw man, I don't think we are gonna win it..." Ya'll slay me...
ORLANDO -- The Lakers are long gone, but Matt Barnes and the Orlando Magic gave them one more parting shot Monday, just in case they happen to meet again in an NBA Finals rematch.
"They aren't going to come in here and punk us,'' Barnes said after practice Monday, still steaming over some of the perceived arrogance the Lakers showed in defeat Sunday.
Barnes said Monday that Kobe Bryant and the Lakers -- defending NBA champs -- are getting an unfair advantage from the officials, based on their reputation.
Bryant and Barnes mixed it up several times, both verbally and physically, in the second half of the Magic's victory Sunday. They received double technical fouls at the start of the third period when they first clashed.
"If (Bryant's) going to throw elbows, I'm not just going to let him do it.'' -- Matt Barnes "I have no problem playing physical, but throughout the game, he (Bryant) elbowed me three times. If I did that, I would have been kicked out,'' Barnes said. "(Pau) Gasol takes a swing at Dwight (Howard). If we do that kind of stuff, we get kicked out, suspended. He (Bryant) is the best player. He gets to do whatever he wants. It is what it is.''
Barnes made it clear Monday that he considers Bryant the "best player in the world.'' Yet he also said he never would concede anything to him on the court.
"If he's going to throw elbows, I'm not just going to let him do it,'' Barnes said. "Kobe is a killer. He has that killer instinct. If you let him mentally get to you, you don't have a chance.''
Bryant Sunday had 34 points, yet he missed the potential game-tying jump shot from 20 feet just before time expired. It was Lamar Odom, though, with eight points and six rebounds who was poking fun at Barnes after the game. He compared Barnes and his physical style of play to former professional wrestler Ric Flair.
"I'm not going to sit here and get into a name-calling battle with someone. The Lakers are where we want to go,'' Barnes said. "If that's what you do when you get to top, that's what you do, talk crap. It doesn't matter to me. We're going to be there at the end."
