I FINALLY had to a chance to catch to Chris live and in person. Well worth coming out on a 'school night' for. Set was short but even with the limited number of songs, I got confirmation of everything I thought of the young man. He has the goods. Most cats have a fly name but don't live up to it. Not this cat. Nope. State City Music has a good one.
Now I know you guys don't know me for the audio/video 'Chats'(interviews if you will..) but today I decided to switch things up a bit. We are going to sit down and talk more but here is a just a lil taste of what to expect in the future.* The 'chat' is a 'raw one' so if you are at work, turn it down a bit. Or wait 'till you can get at home or on your phone. He speaks on his new projects and such...One of which is FEATURED HERE on the homepage of the blog.
*I hate hearing myself talk. @ why you don't I don't do 'audio chats' that much but if I am going to call it the 'Chat Series,' well...audio might be in order.
Video X @Jayhovawitness & a SoundExchange.com rep on getting paid for music streaming & media
Had a lot of you ask me how you would go about parlaying the thing you love to do , music, into something profitable or buzzworthy. This video should help. This is all GREAT STUFF TO KNOW IF YOU ARE A NEWBIE IN THE GAME OR A VET. Definitely worth the time. The Sound Exchange rep explains how you can get paid from services like Pandaro and the like who stream your music and Jayson explains from the media side just what it is like to find music and for it to catch his ear. He also the 'delay' that some of you have expressed 'concerned' with as far as media outlets like MTV and such not 'covering' your favorite artist. There is a reason and whether you like it or not it is valid. The video explains all of that.. Enjoy.
Bonus footage: Grouchy Greg speaking on some of the industry information that is needed...
I am going to be doing this all day..Maybe not as in detail as the first but I am going to try to give some people some support today. It is only right since they have supported me in some way....In order where you can find these folks and their work....
In case some of you were wondering just WHAT EXACTLY El Nino (Mr. Moore) was up to. Here you go. Sorry I couldn't make it Jen. This is my way of making up for not being there though!
Just in case you ever wondered what the 'scenery' looked like here in Delaware. @ those of you who have never been or who live here and never come out of the house. My classmate always did have good taste I swear.....(Chuckles)
Blu Chip speaks on his experience in California, The Game and more. It is good to hear him tell these stories to Greg 'cause we all heard these stories at Made4Men (Shout out to EL and Dead Denim! Ali! Suite 302 ) on 4th St. in Wilmington, Delaware WHEN HE WAS GOING THROUGH IT. (Shout out to Cliff aka Bleek too his partner in crime at the time.) So to hear him say it to someone official like GREG to solidify and document what he has done. Good to see him doing well.
Feel free to click on the video and look at it on YouTube. Subscribe to Greg's page. He gives out a lot that doesn't always make it to the main site. I may post things from there from time to time still to show you what I mean by that.
I know if you live in a big area like NYC, Det, Miami, LA, the Chi, or hell even Philly, you may not know that hip hop even EXISTS IN DELAWARE. You are wrong. Dead wrong. This will be where I will start to expose it some but TRUST ME, some of the names in hip hop you hear hollar'd on records are of people RIGHT FROM HERE. One of the most POPULAR HIP HOP WEBSITES OUT that you visit? That was started FROM THE GROUND UP by people from here. Hip Hop is alive and well here. Some of those writers you see covering events like the Hip Hop Summit on MTV? They are FROM RIGHT IN DELAWARE. (If you are my Facebook friend or if you knew me from school YOU KNOW THIS ALREADY THOUGH, don't you? It has started to make more SENSE hasn't it? @ my knowledge and love of music huh?) So before you 'dismiss it' you need to know that. Please understand that. The back story to this is SO INTERESTING that I don't even know if I wanna even reveal it here. One day, that story will be told by all of those cats involved. It was due to these people that someone like the aforementioned artists like a Shizz Nitty has the 'nerve' to think he could make a record, get it on the radio and get his career jumping like he has. If they can do it, why not him?
Why do I sound a lil 'agitated'? 'Cause I just don't see a lot of you commenting on it or skipping over it like this ni...dude is not real or like I am only putting him here for some other reasons. Not the case man. I know PLENTY OF ARTISTS from here and other places. They might never make it on THESE PAGES until they give me a good reason to with THEIR TALENT. You saw the post on Jadin. He is not known. But he has TALENT. The boy boys from the DMV...You saw that post on them? Talented. Or like the artists that I feature in my media players below that provide the sound drop for this blog. Talented but relatively unknown except maybe in their area. I am a lot like some of you. I like to hear new people and watch their talent blossom. This kid is just like those people that I mentioned up top. Severely underrated and deserving of some shine. So he is getting it. Unlike you THOUGH, I am not mad at those that have made it on a mainstream level. I don't have to do this at their expense.
Back to the regularly scheduled program though. Sorry for the rant. Lets look at some of this footage though...Behind the scenes of the 'Rep Your Set' vid by the boy Shizz Nitty.
....High DEPinition. He is behind the camera..Just recently been made aware of him..Don't worry, I will am in talks now to sit down with the man so you can see the man behind some of this visual footage you are seeing and get some things in HIS WORDS. Post on him solely coming soon....With more things that he has shot.
Shout out to Gimel (Young Guru) on a bigger level. @ the aforementioned 'hollar'd on records'..Lets take a peek at the man behind boards. All you young engineers/producers/those in the game PAY ATTENTION TO THIS VIDEO PLEASE. He is spitting real knowledge in this video. Some of you need to reach out to him 'cause he is the type of person who would help you in a heartbeat if you are about helping yourself.

Let me be clear. I need you to SUPPORT the artist whose music you see/hear in the music player here. Some of them are my FRIENDS!! I want them to make money. So while I may put up a link here or there that they didn't 'endorse', it is only out of the love for their music and the fact that I want you to SUPPORT THEM. So please do. Seek out their music. Some of them are VASTLY UNDERRATED and your FAVORITE MUSICIAN loves them. So it isn't 'talent'. It is exposure. Which is all I am trying to give them here..
SO SUPPORT THEM!!!
